About Swetabja
"I believe a full life requires two things: work that truly matters, and the freedom to wander — with a camera, a notebook, and no fixed itinerary."
— SwetabjaAs General Manager at Brainium Information Technologies Pvt Ltd, I bridge business vision and technological execution. Years of navigating the IT landscape have taught me that great software is ultimately about people — the teams who build it and the clients whose lives it improves.
Photography teaches me patience. Writing teaches me clarity. Cinema teaches me empathy. Travel teaches me everything else. Together with Pritin and Somnath, I am turning these passions into something tangible — a homestay in the hills of North Bengal where travellers can slow down and truly arrive.
Professional
Brainium Information Technologies is a forward-thinking IT solutions company delivering custom software, enterprise applications, and digital transformation services. As General Manager, I oversee operations, client relationships, project delivery, and the growth of our technology portfolio — ensuring every solution we build creates measurable value for the businesses we serve.
Creative Life
I photograph the world the way a writer observes it — looking for the detail that tells the whole story. Streets, portraits, the Himalayan foothills. I shoot film and digital both, believing the best shot is always the one you almost missed.
Active · Open for commissionsEssays, travelogues, short fiction, cinema notes. Writing is the discipline that sharpens everything else — it forces me to decide what I actually think. A well-chosen sentence can sometimes do what a photograph cannot.
Active · Blog coming soonSatyajit Ray's humanism. Tarkovsky's suspended time. Bergman's silences. A lifelong cinephile and an actor — drawn to the stage and screen not for performance but for truth.
Active · Stage & short filmsLadakh's high passes. Bengal's river deltas. North Bengal's mist-covered tea estates. Each journey reshapes me as a manager, a photographer, and a person. Travel is also what drew us to creating Paharer Daak.
Ongoing · 10+ states & countries"The best managers I know are curious people — they read, they travel, they create. That breadth is what makes a leader genuinely good at solving problems they have never seen before."
A boutique homestay in the hills of North Bengal, for those who travel to truly arrive somewhere.
Paharer Daak — the call of the mountains — is what we named this venture, because that is what brought the three of us here. Not ambition. Not a business plan. A feeling we kept returning to after every journey to the Dooars, the tea gardens of Darjeeling district, and the forests of North Bengal: someone should make this easier to stay in properly.
We are building a homestay in North Bengal that is warm, personal, and rooted in the landscape. Designed with a photographer's eye. Run with a writer's attention to detail. For travellers who want to wake up to mist over the hills, walk through tea gardens in the morning, and come back to a home-cooked meal that tastes like this place.
Swetabja, Pritin, and Somnath — three friends who have been travelling these hills for years — are creating the kind of place we always wished existed.
